Barakaldo (Spain), 1973. I start my work as a composer at the end of the 90s. Alternating and combining electronic and musical writing, I have composed since then the music of more than fifty choreographies, a dozen of theatre plays, as well as soundtracks and contemporary works.
I study Applied Arts at the School of Art in Logroño, and then Fine Arts in Valencia. However, at that time I am really interested in music. I discover electroacoustic with David Alarcón, Leopoldo Amigo and Miguel Molina, and little by little I am taking more often the way to the Electroacoustic Laboratory and abandoning the one to the Faculty. I attend the courses of the Electroacoustic Laboratory of the Reina Sofía Museum LIEM–CDMC (Madrid) with composers like Adolfo Núñez, Eduardo Polonio, José Manuel Berenguer, Sergi Jordà, Ricardo Climent, Jean-Claude Risset, Jorge Antunes, Eduardo Reck Miranda and Neil Leonard III. And in short, I continue, until today, to learn everything a little bit in reverse and in a self-taught way.
My work as a stage composer starts in 1998 with the choreographer Damián Muñoz. Since then I have composed the music for many choreographies for companies such as La Intrusa Danza, Germán Jauregui, 10 & 10 Danza, Ballet de Víctor Ullate, Mercedes Pedroche, Asier Zabaleta, and a long etcetera. Since 2007 I have worked closely with choreographer Cesc Gelabert, composing the music for his shows. In theatre I have collaborated assiduously with the company Ultramarinos de Lucas.
For film I have composed for directors such as Isaki Lacuesta, Marcelo Piñeiro, Juanma Bajo Ulloa, Álvaro Fernández-Armero or Norberto López Amado, sometimes next to my teacher Bingen Mendizabal. I have also collaborated with the Basque singers Mikel Laboa, Ruper Ordorika and Mikel Urdangarin. In the field of contemporary music I have premiered works for various instrumental ensembles as well as electro-acoustic works. I have collaborated with the Ensemble Kuraia, the Sigma Project, the Ensemble Espacio Sinkro and the Krater Ensemble.
My work has been presented in France, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Cuba, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Peru, Canada, the United States, India, Hong Kong, China and Japan. I currently live and work in Madrid.
